  1. If you mean the likes of Who Do You Think You Are then yes, though I haven't researched family history- though apparently (and this is absolutely true) there was someone in my family who was a mercenary called "Mad Mike" Hoare. I'd love to find out more about him if I had the chance!

  2. Neither, but a cousin researched my father's history on the male line back to the 15th century.

  3. no i dont know the programme Poppy, but i would like to research my family history, i think it would be fascinating

  4. I watched that other one on BBC 2, I can't remember what it's called. It's TV presenters and people like that looking up their past.

I've thought about doing it, but never really found the time to do it.

  5. I'd like to do that

Shady, this Priest, how did he manage to pass the name on seeing as Priests don't marry?Back in those days if a woman said she was having a priests child she'd be locked in the mad house.

  6. i would love too but unfortunately both my parents are deceased so i don,t know maiden names etc

  7. I started researching my family tree about a year ago.

I am a member on Genesreunited and Ancestry.com

In the past few months I have been in touch with several people who have the same lineage as me, and a couple of weeks ago have been put in touch with a lady whose grandmother was my gt grandmothers sister, she has put me in touch with a girl from Canada who is also directly linked to us both.

I still have a lot of work to do and have come up against a lot of brick walls, but it is something I enjoy doing in my spare time.

  8. No, but I would love to research my family history.

Things like that I find really interesting - Who Do You Think You Are is on tonight, thanks for reminding me xx

  9. I've never watched the programme, but for about 5 years I have researched my families history. It is ,as you say, time consuming. As a result of doing this I have found one or two skeletons rattling about in cupboards, met a lot of cousins and distant relatives that I never knew existed and learned a lot about employment, working and living conditions from years ago. I think that it has all been well worth the effort, it is still ongoing.

  10. No I haven't watched that programme.

My younger brother is still researching our family through the paternal line.

My niece is doing the same via my our maternal line.
