  3. spent years snorkeling along the South Australian coast in summer and in winter. You had to wear a protective wet suit for the cold in winter and to stop sunburn in summer. Saw lots of fish amongst the rocks but not anywhere near fishermen only toad fish there and these are poisonous. Saw mountains of spider crabs very impressive. Followed by a huge sting ray once quite a magnificent sight except that at that time I was too nervous to appreciate it and the more flustered I became the closer it came to check me out. It was a very enjoyable experience but you do need good equipment so that there are no leaks when you are out there swimming for hours and protection from sunburn which can be reflected by the sand. You can also get a bit sea sick if the ocean is too choppy. Swimming along cliff areas is the most interesting. The most attractive fish were small parrot fish very colourful. I carried a hand spear with a bullet head for some protection but it was not needed. Did not swim very far out from the coast and sorry did not have a camera. With the wet suit , the flippers, the goggles and the snorkel it seemed like you needed a lot of equipment. Tried scuba diving later but it was not as much fun and more equipment !~ Used to carry crumbs and cheese to feed the fish.

  4. I am from key west, so i go snorking there all the time. You can see all sorts of fish depending where you go. Lobsters, sharks, barracudas, crabs, angels, hog fish, grouper. We do alot of spearfishing.

  5. I snorkel in Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands. I catch fish, collect scallops and scare my friends surfing (fake shark attack) You can probably see lots of pictures on the internet of the Santa Barbara Channel Islands.  One more thing, you will see sharks from time to time!
