Have you ever witnessed an animal being born?

Question

I watched as a sow gave birth to over 15 piglets. It was amazing. They came shooting out of her like torpedoes, and the attending staff had to stand back 10/15ft to catch them before they hit the fence.

It was an unforgetable experience for me, especially as I was only a 16yr old on-looker at the time.

I had a similar problem with a cow, the calf came out so fast that it hit a car and smashed a windscreen.

Seen lambs being born on our friends farm and he even has a SLCU( Special lamb care unit) with heat lamps to help the not too well babies recover.

Seen many including my own boys but never a mare, too private perhaps. Often thought being an animal midwife would be a great line of work.

i saw a cow give birth once - i had gone to a farm to buy a kitten and as we were leaving the cow in the field right opposite the house decided to give birth - amazing

I've midwifed goat kids being born. They didn't get so forcefully expelled as your piglets did. I had to pull little Billybuck out because he was a big baby. His sister Sevdi was smaller, but I helped her to be born too. I've also seen kittens and calves being born.

Grew up on farm.seen calfs,kids,sheep,colts,dogs cats,piglets all being born.have even reached inside a cow and turned calf that had it's legs underneath it instead of straight out in front.have helped pull 3-400 calfs out of heifers because they are too small to birth properly.all in a days work.no big deal

First of all I don't think  she or anybody else is writing c**p, this is a site for people to express there opinions, and these mostly on this question are kids and to them maybe it does seem gross, it doesn't to me so much and obviously to you, but I wouldn't put them down for it, that's just the way they talk and they have every right to,,,,I have teenagers and "it is what it is" but anyway I've seen a horse give birth to a colt and it was so cool, especially how they walk right away, I loved it,!
