in almost every job I've ever had. Just try and get a stationary engineer's license in the city of Chicago. You have to know someone or you'll never even get to take the fukking test.

In almost every job I`ve had.Even now over 2yrs.at a Fortune 500 company it runs rampant,especially since we have no union to prohibit it from occurring.

Everything in life (from K-12, university, jobs) is about one thing.  "It's not what you know, it's who you know".  The birthday invitations to Suzy Carmichael's 3rd grade party, the people you interact with, and the groups you network through.  It's ALL cronyism.

I am living in the land that invented it - Every one has a friend brother or cousin uncle or niece who does lighting sound refreshments etc. It is so third rate but I guess everyone is pleased.

Its our tribal instinct still in operation.Hard to crack it.
