Have you experienced ECT?

Do you feel happier after? How long?

Do you feel you have lost memory from the treatment? ex. long term/short term or loss of your job skills

As with any treatment for depression ECT will work for some and not for others.  Some may experience some short term memory loss and others may not.  One never knows until they have the treatments, how they will react to them.

you're not messing with a doctor who still does that frankenstein stuff are you? that wasn't even accepted as a worthwhile treatment when it was in vogue.

I received 7 treatments last year.  They did not help at all and I now suffer memory loss.

I had ECT done some years ago. It didn't seem to help me right away but it did help me in the long run. I did have some short term memory loss but that is ok now. I still have to take anti depressants but now they work.

Did you not see The Snake Pit or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? First ECT....then lobotomy.

I have undergone ECT in 1989 and in 1990. in two different occassions.

I am cured. I have no problem due to that afterwards till now. Go ahead....
