  1. Go through the Spanish consulate in your home country.

  2. Depends on the type of visa (Schengen, student, business) and your country of origen.

If you are not a EU citizen, and you're on a Schengen visa, it's not possible to extend this.  You are allowed to stay in the Schengen area, basically all of Western Europe now, for 90 days out of every 180 days.   If you've stayed for 90 days in Spain, your only option is to leave for a non-Schengen country, like the UK, for another 90 days.

It is not possible to leave for a non-Schengen country for a few days and then re-enter Spain as others have said.  This is a myth and you will be turned away at the border.

  3. All you have to do is leave the country, and then come back in and have your visa stamped again for another 90 days.

  4. It's true that you can leave the country and then return to extend a tourist visa, but you have to go to a non-Schengen country.  In other words, you can't just hop the border and visit France for a few days (or hours) as before.

You can also try to do it through proper legal channels within Spain, but I don't recommend it unless you have a TREMENDOUS amount of patience.

  5. yeah i guess u can, but hang on, we (brits) don't need a visa to spain?!
