  1. IMO, a juicer is not something you want to be thrifty about.  I bought a decent one (Green Star) years ago, and it has outlived all my friends' cheaper juicers that they've had to replace.  Plus, cheaper juicers do not extract as much juice from the plant as higher quality ones, which adds up to wasted money over time.  A cheaper juicer will produce pulp that is wet, meaning much of the juice is wasted, compared to the dry pulp from a quality juicer.  Also, I recommend getting a juicer with gears instead of blades.  Just do some research to try to find which juicer has the features you want for a price you can handle.  :)

  2. My Jack LaLanne Power Juicer has been getting a daily workout for 2 years and still runs like a Rolls-Royce, and I paid $125 here in Canada, and I do carrots, beets, celery and other hard veg, for soups sauces and veg/fruit smoothies.

  3. I have what I consider a "Moderate"($99.) priced Jack LaLanne Power juicer. I've had it for over a year use it just about every day.

  4. I've been juicing every day for the last year and my old ACME is still  running strong. I got it used ... matter of fact I have two other ACMEs  in storage just in case something should happen to this one.   I picked 'em up when they were real bargains at thrift stores, around $10.

  5. I have a "Juiceman" and have had no problems at all.

The only downside that I have with it - wish that the opening was larger.
