Have you found the perfect carseat for a 4Door Yaris?

I have a 2007 4d yaris and I am 23 weeks pregnant. I need to find a solution to a problem. My car has a hump on the middle seat. It makes carseats wobble when I put them on it. Have you found a great fitting easy to use infant seat? I am also looking for a nice rear facing seat for when my son gets older. I have heard of seats with tethers and stuff to help stabilize the seat. I have also heard about the bars in the seat cracks. I would love it if you could give me specific names of seats you love and or links. Thanks much!

  1. If you are so concerned for your child's safety, why are you driving a deathtrap?  Yaris is on the IIHS list of most dangerous cars.  Failed crash tests don't lie.

  2. Try this site it is very helpful..............

    http://www.carseatdata.org/

  3. Check your vehicle manual to confirm that you CAN have a car seat in the middle.  There are some vehicles that do not allow car seat installations there.  As a car seat instructor, I HIGHLY recommend seeking out a car seat technician in your area https://ssl13.cyzap.net/dzapps/dbzap.bin...

These individuals are trained to assist in the installation of your car seats.

Now, as a MOM, I personally LOVE the Chicco Keyfit 30, Graco SafeSeat (both will harness your baby until 30lbs IN the infant carrier).  I also love the Baby Trend Flex Loc and the Britax Companion.

Infant carriers do NOT have tethers.  You will find tethers on seats that forward face with an internal harness.  There are 2 seats that will allow you to tether rear facing;  Britax and Sunshine Kids.  Other than that, ALL harnessing convertible and combination seats are required to have the LATCH hooks and tethers on the seats.

Please seek out a tech to better assist you OR post on www.car-seat.org as there are hundreds of techs/instructors/advocates waiting to answer all your questions!
