Have you golfed at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas?

I'll be golfing at Sahdow Creek in Las Vegas as a guest in April.

I understand this is a great honor to be able to play such an exclusive course.

If you have played there, what is it like. I can't find anything on the slope or rating.

  1. Shadow Creek is an amazing course but quite difficult.

  2. The reason why they dont post the course rating or slope is due to the fact that the course is truly intended for match play, or a gambling format (its in Vegas.)  There is no honor in playing it.  If you stay at the hotel, and have 500 dollars, they will gladly let you on (just watch out for the hustlers...Negranu, Phil Ivey, those guys LOVE to hustle golfers.)

I have never played there, but you will find stuff that dosnt belong in Vegas, like waterfalls, pine trees, etc.  Its is a fabulous layout (Fazio I think,) and has received many accolades over the years.  But realize that it is not such a privelage to play it, you just have to have the money.  If you get on to Augusta...now thats an honor!

  3. No i have played there but it sounds like a great course.

  4. I've never played there, but the "honor" part is just an advertising ploy. Anyone with a reservation at an MGM/Mirage property and $500 to blow on a round of golf can play there.

And no, they do not publish the rating or slope. That's probably just part of the "mystique" they are trying to create. It's pretty long though at 7,200 yards.
