very nice,but the languages section would be more in keeping with your prowess in Spannish----ñññññ.As to the actual question,many people used what they called "uncle" after the war,medals , furniture,family relics and heirlooms were pawned for money for food and heating (coal ).Ration book coupons were sold,tea coupons fetched half a dollar (2 and 6)or the old half crown as it was known,clothing coupons also changed hands like this,those were hard times.

yep!  I tried to pawn my wedding rings and all the other jewelry my ex-husband had given me, but I thought I would get a lot more that what they offered so I just decided to keep the stuff and give it to my daughters when they were old enough.

My boys would get video games at one in the next town over. If they did not work right the guy said they could bring them back.

Sure. A friend of mine worked at one and he used to call me whenever there were great deals available. I bought a lot of home electronics from him and I don't believe any of it was stolen, although you can never be absolutely sure. (The presence of a pawn shop in a neighborhood tends to increase the number of break-ins in the area. Ask any cop.)

I have never sold anything to a pawn shop myself.
