If I asked the question 'if it was corked', I would have said it in the question.

  1. Of course.

  2. yeah! thats what the quarter taste tests are for

  3. If you are at a restaurant, you can usually ask for a sample of the wine to see if you like it. Most places would rather do this instead of pouring a glass of wine, you not liking it, and having to throw it away w/o having anyone pay for it. No reputable place would make you pay for something you don't like. But I have served and had people send back the wine and it wasn't really that big of a deal. If it's not something you like then you shouldn't have to pay for it. But I would suggest asking to sample wines that you've never tried and aren't sure if you'd like.

  4. My parents have done it even 2 times in a row at the same restaurant. I mean you are supposed to do that. They are letting you taste it so you can say your opinion. You are paying for it and you should not be drinking wine you dont like, right :)?

  5. It is not about whether you like it but whether or not it is "Good", in so far as it is not bad or has been corked. If you simply don't like it then you have screwed up your choice and it is an expensive mistake to make.

Well, since you edited it about the corking... then no, you shouldn't complain about not liking a wine simply because you don't like it... you could comment that it wasn't for you, but that is all you can or should do really... the taste test is all about the condition and not flavour.

  6. Yes I have, but the young man who owned it was very friendly and gave us a few wines to taste..."that`s what I call service" excellent...needless to say we`ve been back many times since and we tip well:-)

  7. Well yes...But if you buy a glass and you don't like it, you can't just switch it out. You have to pay for it, unless they make a mistake and bring you the wrong wine or something like that. It may depend on the state you live in cause in NC, there is absolutely no free liquor - so if you order it, taste and don't like it - you are more than welcome to purchase something else more to your liking, but you arent getting a free replacement. if you want to try something new that you aren't sure about, ask if they are sampling anything that night. Often, they will have a select few wines that they have uncorked just for sampling.

  8. Yes I have, although only a few times but usually the waiter is quite surprised!   I think although they all say that I don't think they actually expect anyone saying anything, however if you have ordered something & usually paying for it, we are within our rights to say if we don't like it & ask for something else.  I do think there are many people who have tasted their wine & hated it but never said anything!!!

  9. i think the question you mean is / has the wine been corked and is undrinkable then you have a reason for refusing and yes i have told the restaurant that/the bottle was replaced

if you buy wine and say you dont like it thats your tough luck you shouldnt have bought it in the first place
