  1. Traveline.

Because of amendments that are being made to the way bus services are registered and train services regulated, by 2010 Traveline will have an up-to-date database of every public transport facility from anywhere in the UK.

The key to this is the NaPTAN database which allocates a unique 11 digit number to each location at which public transport can be accessed. It includes bus stops, railway platforms, ferry slipways, taxi ranks and even airports! Each NaPTAN point is geocoded for latitude and longitude and cross-referenced to local geography. When the system is fully operational, it will far out-strip the current TfL facilities.

Since many of the major bus transport providers are already provided NaPTAN data to Traveline, there is good coverage for much of the  country.

  2. search travel planner on google & select a planner for your area. Here's one for the UK which is good but none are quite as good as tfl since tfl knows all public transport routes in london. Multiple companies run outside london and so it's unlikely one website has a record of all routes and times running.
