Have you got a traffic cone, or a defunct road lamp ?

Hi Folks,

It is just that rummaging in the loft, I have discovered "borrowed" items from student days.

One is a red parraffin lamp, in a metal box with a hook on the top, used in the 70's for roadworks.

Daft, but I bet many have similar items.

a  stop sign, one no parking, one - one way arrow, a cone. a few street name signs and one sign that says " boro of __ police-car parking only"

Traffic Cone, not on purpose, it was left on my car's roof!

i used to have a traffic cone, which served well as a coat stand.now i have an exit sign which i threaten to throw people out of if they dont SHUT UP after some boozy doins!

Yes. I've got a set of traffic lights from Oxford Circus and one of the bascules from Tower Bridge - but only in model form. As for the real thing, I never went around stealing street furniture.

My best friend has a traffic cone in her garden (2 actually which the kids spray painted pruple)

yep, I have 2 sparkling new italian road signs from a couple of years ago!

(i got rid of the cones the flashing lights and the red and white things from the side of the road!)

Yes I am sure that you are correct. There will be a number of irresponsible fools out there who quite readily put other peoples lives in danger by interfering with and stealing road safety materials and equipment.

I have a friend who was driving home late one evening. Not speeding, not drunk, when his car struck a large pile of concrete building blocks. These blocks had been well illuminated by road lamps earlier in the evening but some addle brained fool had 'taken them for a laugh'.

If my friend laughs now, many years later, it still creates great pain where he was injured. Not everything is capable of repair.

There is no question of 'borrowing' involved here. This was theft. You are a thief. You appear to be proud of it.
