  1. Avoid Soho around the red light district/s*x shops, the clubs there are called "Clip Joints" whose sole purpose is to rip off tourists. There the kind of places where girls stand outside and try to talk you into going in. The usual play is a hidden charge for something or drinks are £60 for a coke. Its not happened to me but they are well known in London and avoided by everyone apart from Japanese business men.

  2. I got thrown out of a lap dance club last year.

There was this naked bottom gyrating in front of me and I hadn`t any notes to stick to it, so I used my "swipe card"

It didn`t go down too well at all !!!!

  3. you get ripped of everywhere in London thanks to the mayor

  4. go to a "gentlemens club" like spearmint rhino or any other lap dancing club you see, bear in mind you can look but touch and you fly through the door

  5. no it's all kosher - £20 for a dance.  I started off at Spearmint Rhino - what a dive.  Suggest you go straight to Stringfellows.  Not a bad night out.

  6. no not yet

  7. no the wife wont let me go !

  8. West End strip club prices are largely "daylight" robbery - I agree with Philip H, Soho tourist joints are the biggest rip-off - I used to work in a nearby restaurant, some customers of ours once told us they'd paid £250 for 2 gin & tonics [well before Ken Livingstone, spartan!]

Here's a site with some recommendations - of varying price ranges [Stringfellows is also reasonable]:
