  1. Yep.  There is a marvelous amount of vaporware out there.  You'll find the following schemes detailed on YouTube and elsewhere:

The electric car that charges instantly and drives all day.

    The solar car.

    The hydrogen car.

The car that runs on water and ultra-violet light from sunshine.

    Diesel fuel from algae.

Water dissociation cells run by the car's electrical system

    The compressed air car.

    And a few others.

They're all bogus to one extent or another: either not in production, or theoretical, or mathematically impractical.

I often wonder where the humorous perception of the Wrights as eccentrics who stumbled into success by making mistakes might have come from.  My guess is that it was old movies inspired by post-WWI barnstorming acts.

The Wright brothers were serious engineers who did serious mathematics to back up their work before they built anything.  They were not careless or crazy in the least, and you likely would have found that they weren't a lot of fun to deal with.

They wouldn't have been impressed with water-fueled cars.  In fact, they'd probably heard about the idea: it's that old.

  2. No I have not heard about that model yet.

  3. Sounds like what Detroit wants us to believe they are sellling.

I prefer the real thing: all-electric cars that are being built NOW and  that actually work.   And don't use a drop of gas.

  4. Yeah but I bet the competition it gets from the Fred Flintstone mobile will keep it off the market.

  5. hahaha... so so funny

  6. Is there any street price available?

  7. Cynicism is easy. You would have had lots of fun at the Wright bros expense.

Of course, you also would have missed out on the great adventure of the 20th century.
