  1. One day I was levitating while I was sleeping, but then I woke up and fell back into bed.

  2. Yes, and I believe some people are more susceptible than others and that is why some like Eri can explain them away; she's never had a true experience.  I've encountered a mist in the shape of a human, which I ran through unable to stop as soon as I saw it.  Also have seen a little boy dressed in 'knickers' at the school where I worked (several times) and school was locked and empty.  These are just a couple I've encountered in my lifetime that had no explanation.

  3. i would like to say i have. at my friends house there was a lady that i saw who was wearing white and had brown hair, she was also holding a baby. then my friend saw the same lady the next time i went over. and her brothers friend saw her. but when they saw her she looked wild, unlike when i saw her. although no one believes us, i know what i saw and so do they.

then a few weeks later i learned that a lady had died way far back in the woods behind her house.

  4. I have personally experienced paranormal experiences of the telepathic kind. I can see auras around people and control minds. I am currently learning cryokinesis. I have posted a help question on Yahoo Answers but people seem bent on giving the "facts" because I'm "wrong." If you want to believe, and please do, you are not alone. (you can contact me with e-mail for more info)

  5. Yes, I have had a few.

One experience I did not know was paranormal until some 10 yrs later. When I watched a show called Ghosts of Gettysburg, and there was the mystery man that I saw and my brother said I was imagining.

The others were more personal such as a locked cabinet door swinging open with a mention of my grandmother. A picture with mysterious ecto in a Christmas Photo in which nobody was smoking and before and after pictures show nothing.

Voices on recordings that have no explanation.

Stove with dual k***s being turned off while we stood just a few feet from it.

A shelf lifting up off the wall and crashing to the floor some 6 feet from it's placement.

All things have happened personally to myself and immediate family. I'm sure someone will have an explanation for most but the truth is after all the experimentation I have done, I can not recreate these actions at all.

  6. My grandfather sees old friends and relatives that have been dead for years.  But he's perfectly aware they aren't there, since no one else can see them.  Is this paranormal?  Nope.  This is a hallucination.

Plenty of things happen and I can't explain them.  So I go looking for an explanation instead of just assuming it must be ghosts or demons or spirits.  And you know what?  I always manage to find a perfectly reasonable, natural explanation.

  7. Yes.

I thought my wife brought me a cup of tea in bed this morning.

I then realised I was seeing things that were not there.

  8. I've smelled tobacco in the middle of a lecture class. REALLY strong tobacco. Like someone was smoking a pipe right next to my head. My great-grandpa smoked pipes.

I have also seen a "shadow person" in the window at my aunt's house. We were all outside in the front yard, and I just happened to look up at the window. The shadow quickly moved to the left and disappeared. I was young at the time and was really scared.

I also can't sleep at night due to voices and people talking right into my ear. (See my latest question)

  9. My first paranormal experience happened to me when i was 13 yrs old.I was standing at the dinner table using my new paper shredder, but i noticed that the atmosphere in my house was kinda different that night,i didn't think anything of it.I looked on our front porch and i saw the most beautiful snow white cat sitting right at our doorstep. Then i went back to my paper shredder and continued to work, but suddenly i felt this overwhelming presence. To my surprise, there was a lady in a white dress standing right beside me,i was completely frozen as she stared me in the face. She had long black hair and a white dress, but i can't remember anything else. This lasted for about 10 seconds and then she just walked into the wall.I ran to the back room to find my mother, but i just couldn't tell her what was wrong. She kept asking me "What's Wrong,What's Wrong"?and i finally told her what happened.

The part that surprised her the most was the white cat. When my mother was a child, she saw a ghostly white cat in her bed.To this very day,my mother is afraid of cats.My mother saw this ghostly white cat shortly before her grandmother (my great-grandmother) died.

I felt that maybe it was the same cat ghostly cat that my mother had seen when she was a child and now i was seeing it,like a sign or something. The white cat that was on the front porch the night i saw my first ghost walked into a drain pipe, never to be seen again.

When my sister was little, she saw man wearing a hat, sitting in a chair staring at her. Both of us have had several OBE experiences. My Mother has the most psychic premonitions of anybody in the household, she'll have a dream about something and usually it will come true.Every single person in my family has had some sort of experience,so we're all believers now.

  10. I want to believe, too.

Unfortunately, like you, I haven't found nearly enough compelling evidence to justify belief in ghosts, alien visitation, psychokinesis, etc. I like hearing ghost stories, but unfortunately none of them ever seem to be confirmed by multiple reliable witnesses and the details are usually so sketchy that one can propose a number of alternate explanations.

That doesn't mean I have made up my mind or stopped looking, although it seems that the likelihood of gathering compelling evidence for these things isn't that great.

  11. Yes.

Then believe that is your choice.

More important than any story that anyone may tell you are your choices, opinions, and beliefs. Many millions of people have had experiences they at least consider paranormal (some are unexplained by conventional science). Since 1882 academics, scholars, and scientist have studied paranormal experiences under the titles psychical research and parapsychology.

Thus, both anecdotal accounts and scientific research is there.

However, more important questions are why do you want to believe? and what would make you believe?

In the end belief is a choice and nothing more.

  12. If you've ever had a true paranormal experience..I don't think any number of skeptics answers on here will take away your belief. But, just because we believe there is something on the "other side"..in another dimension...doesn't mean we know what/who it is. Just because you "call on" a certain person ..and someone comes and answers and says they are that person..or look like them...I don't see how we can ever be sure (on this side) if it really was them. I guess you could believe by "faith"..but I think that would be "blind faith"..which isn't always smart.  I would really like to know wh

o it was that was in my experiences..probably more than one..several from what I can tell...but I don't know of anything that could make me really "sure".So , I guess I'll just have to wait to find out.  (not all my experiences were good..so I hope the ones who were in those aren't going to be wherever I go!!)Also..some of them could have been people "astral traveling".

  13. Yes. I loved 'Sue from Iowa's' story.

Since I was little, in the early '60's, I wanted to believe in amazing things like ghosts and esp, but my life seemed destined to ordinary-ness. Then, in my mid 20's, I 'lost' my parents and older brother. From 1978 til now, my awareness has picked up on things like ghosts, astral projection, esp, objects levitating or vanishing, unusual noises and a quiet certainty that death isn't the end--only a great new beginning. If a doctor said I only had a few months to live, I'd leave their office walking on air: I'm going to see my family again!

People who don't believe in spiritual things are living in denial and cheapening the quality of life. There is much to be looked forward to and we mere mortals DON'T have all the answers--we're still in spiritual kindergarten, for goodness' sake! There is a God and angels, and the dark side as well. Live accordingly.

Today I heard a fine quote which sums things up nicely: I would rather live my life believing in God, die, and find out I was wrong, than to live my life without God, die, and find out He is real. Amen!

  14. A little experience has stayed with me for a while now.  I was at my house on my own, one night, I looked across at the curtains near the bar area of my husbands house, and all of a sudden the curtains moved on their own, it lasted about 20 seconds or so. No doors were open or anything, just the curtains moving.  Well, I wasn't scared by it, just moved to sleep with the door closed and a broom up against it.

  15. My husband and 2 kids lived in old farmhouse for 10 yrs. It was built in 1892. We rented it from the original owner's granddaughter. Strange occurances seemed to happen alot.

We all heard footsteps coming down wooden stairs and nobody would be there. The kitchen seemed to be center of house....we would walk in kitchen and all cupboards would be open.During the night the buzzer would go off on our stove and we would go in and the whole kitchen would smell like cinnamon or other smells...like somebody had been baking.

My son and I were making cookies one day and had left measuring cups on counter. We turned around and they were gone. They were back in drawer. Neither of us had moved them. There were two big porches on each side of house. One had old rocking chair that we would catch rocking away. When we approached it would stop.

The time that really freaked me out the most was when my kids and I were decorating Christmas tree. I was up on stool putting star on top. I stepped back and lost my footing and fell backwards. A strong hand on my lower back kept me from falling and the pressure stayed on my back as I stepped down. I turned around expecting my son to be standing behind me. Nobody was there. My kids weren't even in the room. It totally startled me but I felt relieved to think that somebody had been looking out for me.

One day I was cleaning in attic. There was a small door we had never opened. I turned around and it was open. I looked in and there was some old newspapers and jars of seeds.I am an avid gardener and was so thrilled at my find.

There were tons of hollyhock seeds and morning glory seeds.  I planted them all over yard and made some beds just for the hollyhocks(as they get so big and tall).2 years later there were 10 foot tall hollyhocks everywhere and morning glories climbing all over house and porches. The lady that owned our house came over and was astonished to see yard full of hollyhocks....said it was her grandma's favorite flower and I had put the beds in the same areas she used to have them and even had placed rocks around the beds like she used to. Also the morning glories were in the same spot her grandma used to grow them. She sent me a picture of her grandma walking in her yard with hollyhocks all around her. The layout was identical to what I had done. Also in the back of the picture was her grandpa sitting on rocking chair on porch overlooking yard( the same rocking chair that always was rocking)

So yes I believe...as does my family. I hated moving from that old house and will always remember it dearly.
