  1. love how your question is read, but hard to answer

  2. Like poetry, visualisation is important in thought. Sometimes the mental pictures come without the words. Animals do not visualise verbally. We are also animals and sometimes the words are not necessary.

  3. Yes.

    Too often.

They just flip and flap themselves out of any words I try to put on them and get stuck in loops instead... as if the act of them going around and around will somehow carve enough space in my head ...

  4. prehaps

  5. no. you verbalise what you've visualised. simple.

  6. You question sounds interesting but my brain has shut down so in response may I say rub it on your chest.

  7. I like that idea a lot. It seems very useful and something I have overlooked - or have never seen. I have some books that I use for phonics and spelling and I think that will be an excellent addition to the arsenal. It also seems fun, challenging and productive, all at the same time. Also, since students all learn and experience things in individual ways this will be just another way I might be able to reach some and help others even more.

  8. My primary communication method is visual, so I tend to see a picture before the words come. However, I am also fascinated by words and their interplay so occasionally I get the words, the picture follows hot on their heels and away I go writing like a madman!

    Great question.

  9. all the time.

the language hasn't been created yet that would adequately express

what I see in my head,

  10. Yes.  I have had a lot of powerful thoughts with the words that go with them, and I have not had paper and pen around just then to capture the illusive illumination and turned it into powerful writing.
