  1. i had the same problem, the staff have no clue at all

  2. Had the same problem but after headbanging and complaining to no avail got myself repair kit ( glass fiber and resin matrix ).

Better if you can get carbon fiber and epoxy( that´s what tent poles are made from ) but it is much more expensive.

Now my long front pole is a bit rough in the midle ( where the snap happened but the pole is strong enough and it works.

    Hope that helps

  3. The tent pegs from Millets are not very good quality. If you go to a more dedicated camping store or even a military surplus store, they can advise you on whihc tent pegs to buy.

I have only ever shopped with Millets onces, and, due to poor customer service, I will not shop with them again.

In my personal experience, I have learned that carbon fiber tent pegs are actually better than the ones they sell in Millets.

  4. Millets and Blacks are the same group, Millets sell the cheaper equipment and Im afraid you get what you pay for.

However that doesnt mean you should get poor customer service. Whatever the goods they sell the customer service should be acceptable.

Tent poles DO snap, however the only time I have ever had them break is when there was some human involvement (tripping, footballs etc), but then there are also manufacturing flaws to consider - you might have had a bad pole. It happens.

Perhaps you might like to write to their head office - politly of course, and explain that you werent fully satisfied with their service when you returned a faulty product and ask if there is a way to get a replacement pole. I rang up the tent manufacturer once (ordered it direct from them) and got a few spare poles to replace a broken one, no questions askes, no accusations (even in this case the pole was damaged by a foot)
