I have practiced ju-jitsu for 7 years and my style has a lot of wrist locks, kotegashes, and joint manipulations. About 3 months ago I began feeling a pain in my pinky whenever I would bend my hand. It feels like it's pulling. One of my sparring partners manages to get me in many kotegashes and I don't want to stop sparring. Will this go away if I layoff getting kotegashed etc.? Have you ever experienced this problem.

  1. How important is your health to you?  If it is important, go have a doctor look at it. Otherwise you will be risking your health on other peoples opinions. Do you really want to risk taking advice from people that can't diagnose the severity of the problem?

  2. I have a permanent limp from being a "blind follower" when I was younger.

    Be loyal to you.

  3. go to el doctor

  4. Doctors can't do much for joints and muscles, unless you are going for surgery. I think you would be best going to a physiotherapist.

It sounds to me like you may have hooked a tendon round the wrong side of a bone.

  5. Yeah I got put in an armbar and hurt my elbow It made a pop every time I bent it but I stop sparring for about 2 weeks was very careful with it and now its all good. You just need to take some time off from intense physical activity so your body can heal. But sorry you probably should stop sparring for awhile

  6. first answer is right lay off and see a doctor wrists are very important joints and therefore very fragile

  7. i suggest you see a sports injury specialist and rest /cut out the wrist locks for a while. take pugpaws advice

  8. I agree with pugpaws if you are that worried about it go and get it checked out by a doctor.

  9. Don't ask us, go see a doctor that you can actually trust.
