Have you had/witnessed any problems with zoloft?

I was just diagnosed with depression and my doctor prescribed me zoloft. I've been overwhelmed with stress and all I seem to do anymore is cry. I just started the medicine two days ago and I've done quite a bit of research on the drug. I was just wondering if anyone else has taken it or knows someone else who has taken it, and if they've had any severe problems or complications?

Toward the end of my treatment of Zoloft, I experienced a "Buzzing" sensation, and found myself waking up at night overstimulated and unable to go back to sleep.  

The worst thing about Zoloft is the withdrawal symptoms, if you decide to miss several doses or take yourself off the medicine, you go through a withdrawal phase in which your sense of balance is gone, you become extremely moody and irritable, and you are easily nauseated.  

Another bad side effect was that any time I had a severe emotional event, I would become dizzy and spacey.  

Last but not least, Zoloft is known to cause interested sexual side effects.

*As in, can be both.  The most interesting one is delayed finish, which sounds better than it is.  Other effects include random unexpected arousal and partial arousal, sudden loss of interest...

wen you come off of it you will go INSANE!!!! You'll have horrible mood swings and your body will still be anxious {Shaking, blushing, sweaty palms, stuttering, etc} but you will be calm in your mind. As for the sexual part I'm not at all interested anymore. I broke up wit my bf bc of it. I don't even like guys anymore {or girls but i never did}

I wish i didn't take it

now I'm all screwed up and confused

i was on it for about a year

whenever i get nervous i shake and feel like I'm gonna vomit and my face turns red and my legs so numb but in my mind i'm fine

First of all, Zoloft is an excellent antidepressant.  It can take up to 4 weeks to get into your system before you see an improvement.  So you have to hang in there.

Some side effects can be a lessened or increased appetite.  Usually you gain energy because the depression has lifted.  Sometimes, people experience sexual side effects.  Most notably, a longer time to reach o****m.  It doesn't happen to all, however.  It's also dose related.  

Zoloft is not nasty to come off of if you wean yourself gradually under a doc's supervision.
