Have you had your debit card skimmed recently?

Recently I purchased petrol from the Texaco Garage along primrose Hill, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. From that moment on my details were regularly used to purchase fuel in various Tescos petrol stations. Used to the value of £710!

I am careful with protecting my pin code and dont let anyone touch my card (especially in petrol stations!) so it certainly came as a shock to me to find out this had taken place.

  1. The other Sat my wife used her card 3 times in shops, then later that night we went for a meal at the local harvester and she paid again by card, on one of those handheld terminals brought to the table.

The next day on Sun morning we went to B&Q about noon and when she tried paying by card, the machine asked for a phone authorise, which they did ok after some security checks, but told her to ring her bank asap.

When we got home she did, and it turned out someone had tried using her 'card' at a cashpoint in ITALY sometime overnight and they HAD THE CORRECT PIN, but as she hadnt told her bank she was going abroad and it was used 3 times in the UK just hours before, they denied the withdrawl.

    Lucky!
