It's the official end of the Mayan calender.  For kicks, someone wiseguys thought it would be funny to attach that to the end of the world, sine we all didn't die in 2000.

i'm not sure.  i will say those mayans were pretty interesting characters.  they created an empire, forged science and astronomy, an extinguished an empire, all while being lunatics about the date

yes, 21st of december 2012, its according to a chineese and mayan calender which says so...but not sure if it s true coz the calender only means that its the time when earth and the mily way will be on the line and or maybe they have made the calender only till 2012 doesnt mean its the end of the world!
