  1. LPG aka Propane, is a gas at atmospheric pressure it's only liquid under pressure.  so it will not go in your petrol tank.  Your vehicle has to be converted first, but you can run on petrol or propane, essentially you have two fuel tanks.  It is a cleaner burning fuel, but it does lessen horse power slightly.  But it's cheap less than half the cost of petrol in the UK.  and diesels can not be converted to propane.

  2. It costs quite a few hundred quid to convert but lpg is cheaper where i live it's about 43p a litre

  3. NO

the car must be converted to run on lpg

then it can run on petrol or gas

    not a mixture

  4. an lpg conversion allows you to use either fuel ,but not at same time.with out a properly fitted conversion kit you will go BANG!!

    hope this helps,

  5. Not unless you want to blow yourself up at worst, ruin your vehicle at best.

  6. Hi!

Of course! my father had one car powered by LPG, one of my friend has FIAT multipla powered by natural gas!

Here you are the answer about your question:

You can't use a mixture, because LPG is liquid at a pressure of 25bar ,  and it's stored in a separate tank.

In Gas powered vehicles you can choose if you want to use gas or petrol (gasoline), because the engine is a normal petrol (otto cicle) engine modified to use both the fuels; for example, if you finid the LPG in the tank, you push a botton (sometimes it's automatic) and the car plant changes automatically the type of fuel to use. When you start the engine of a gas powered car, the first minute it works, normally, using petrol, then it changes into gas, it's just for the worming up.

So, definitely, you must have a little bit of petrol in your tank, to make sure all work in good conditions.

Sorry for my English, I've been studying in Leeds last year, but I'm not so good...

Good Luck with your gas powered car!

    Ale

  7. I used to be in the oil and gas business.  We ran our trucks on LPG and regular gas (they were set up so you could switch back and forth).

LPG produces a bit less power and is hard to start when the weather gets very cold (I am from Canada).

It also burns very clean and our engines lasted longer.

  8. I would play it safe and only use an EPA registered product like FFI's if you want to save on fueling costs?

I've done some research over the years after gas prices started to skyrocket for my husband's trucking business.

I found out about FFI's products and we've been pleasantly pleased with them for the past 8 months.  It saves our trucking business and personal vehicles about $300/month on fuel and reduces emissions by 75%.  We buy wholesale because of the amount of use we have for our business and with that, we have a retail website as well.

  9. Was thinking of LPG myself obvious cost advantages etc. That is until this week when a car did apparently go boom due to a leak; check Uk news archives. Now i am going to delve a lot deeper into the safety aspects.Another consideration is rape seed diesel if  you are looking at cost, but lousy performance and i am not at all certain about its enviromental impact.

To summise and answer the question.lol.

LPG can be used in conjunction with unleaded you'll have two seperate tanks and a switch.but these must be fitted correctly so under no means would I personally cut the corners and buy a manual from ebay(other internet auctions are available.) and do it myself.

  10. As the others say, no. LPG is stored under pressure and needs a special pressure vessel and fueling system. LPG cars have this vessel for LPG and a separate container for petrol. The later is used for the first minutes when the engine is still too cold and off course when you run out of LPG. :)
