Have you heard about Mooncups?

An alternative to tampons and sanitary towels is the menstrual Mooncup. A small reusable silicon cup which is inserted like a tampon.

They are much kinder to both you and the environment. They are sterilized and used again and again, not flushed into the water system or piling up in landfills. They are not bleached, don't have surfactants etc which may pose health risks and no evidence of toxic shock syndrome like you can get with tampons.

  1. I have now and I think they are a great idea. Washing is much more hygienic, much better for the environment and for you too. Who wants to be exposed to all those chemicals in towels and tampons and have them in rotting away your water supply? Thanks.

  2. It might be kinder to the environment, but they're disgusting.

  3. Absolutely disgusting.  Next they'll come up with reusable toilet tissue.

  4. they make me feel sick.

  5. THANKS , I thought you meant something about energy saving .

  6. Yep, use one on and off - not all that comfy and difficult if out in public toilets to clean, unless you dont mind cleaning it publicly in the sink!  I personally get on better with a sponge - which are grown ethically and renewable sources.

I also use washable cloths too.  Just depends, when, where and what i want at the time.

The blood is extremely good to use on plants too.

This all probably sounds really gross to those of you on here who seem to have major issues with natural bodily functions and fluids!!

    Definitely better than commercial products.

  7. Yeah I have heard of them.
