Have you heard about "the Secret"?

Question

I'm talking about the secret, compiled by Rhonda Byrne in her book. Heard of it? What do you think about the concept of the law of attraction being imposed there?

I'd just like to hear some opinions. :)

I saw the video, I actually loved it, but you know what hate it or love it but it was already written in the Bible, not really a secret

Not a secret, nothing new. I don't think Byrne has the authority to impose the law of attraction, It's very old, and sensible metaphysical advice.

People make a mistake when they think it means you can wish for ponies, and ponies will fly out of your butt, however. It just means that your outside relationships with the world will mirror your inner relationship with your self. This doesn't mean that you can magically wish your troubles away. It means your inner attitude and desires are key to focusing your energies into accomplishing your goals. It's like a basketball player visualizing the ball going into the net before he takes a foul shot. It's about not shooting yourself down by picturing negative outcomes, but lifting your confidence up by looking at the positive possibilities.

I read some reviews of it, so I know it is nonsense copied from earlier sources. Ever hear of the old book "The Power of Positive Thinking", Mesmerism, New Age, etc.? The only ones this book helps are Rhonda Byrne and her publishers who made much money selling it to gullible people. The so-called "Law of Attraction" makes no sense really. I wrote an essay about "Self-Defeating Habits" and perhaps #1 on my list is "wishing, hoping, praying, whining, crying, etc. about things you want and problems you face, rather than working to achieve your goals and solve your problems." That shows this Law of Attraction is nonsense. I knew wishing does not make anything come true when I was 5 years old. Some people never learn that.

I have the video, and the book on cd's

if indeed it IS true, then all chaos is going to break out when everyone uses it to their full advantage.  The applications to it are endless.

yeah, if think I do, I saw a movie about it in my civics class, mm about "the secret" I mean the law of attraction, I have friends who believe in it, but I don't really think someone should put important things on that concept, anyway I do believe about the positivity part if you are positive things are normally better
