What happens at this track sickens me. The losing horses are simply KILLED by lethal injection. The clinic log books at this track which go back several years state that over 400 perfectly healthy horses have been killed. Their are no refuges for losing horses and they state owners do not want to keep losing horses. They even say some owners there want to kill their losing horses in revenge. This news is so cruel and horrible can we somehow shut down this track? Maybe Puerto Rico can't handle horse racing? I saw this story on AOL news I am sure it is at other media outlets as well.

  1. you have to go there and do something before it is too late.tell them you are willing to adopt all those broken down horses.

  2. Puerto Rico is not exactly known for humane animal acts.

They have c**k fights all over the place.  Wild, homeless dogs roam the streets and beaches, because they don't have shelters or rescues.  It's sad, but It's life.

  3. Unfortunately I don't think that "we" can shut down the track.  There's a lot of horrible things that happen outside this country and we have problems in our own country to work on.  Unfortunately there are no worldwide laws.  We have the NTRA (National Thoroughbred Racing Association) that helps to provide some unity to our many states' racing industries.  Changing the situation at the track in Puerto Rico is going to require a lot of lobbying with the Puerto Rican government and those in charge of the racing there.  I would love to see a change made there, but realistically, I don't know that we can make much of a difference.
