Have you heard of an XY motor scooter. I have an motor scooter from China it is an XY50QT model.?

This scooter is an 4 strke/49cc it goes 35 miles an hour. Here in Dayton Ohio it must be registerd. DMV has not heard of this type of scooter. They want to know if it is safe to drive on road. they stated that it was on the neck of the bike. They are talking about some kind of informtion that says it is safe by some code. Does anybody know what they are atlking about?

There may be a pop-off cover on the front panel just above your feet, and a 13 digit vehicle identification number (VIN) on the frame behind it.  There is usually an ID plate on the bottom of the seat or in the underseat compartment stating the scooter is compliant.  You should also have received a Certificate Of Origin, also called an MCO.
