Have you heard of duct tape for warts?

My son has what I am pretty sure is a planters wart on his foot. I asked him how long it has been there and he said since Christmas. I can't believe I only noticed it now. I found the Dr Scholls wart removal didn't work when I was younger and had a wart. So I tried researching alternatives to this. Duct tape keeps coming up. Has anyone done this? Does it work??

Duct tape causes a local irritation that causes the immune system to infiltrate and kill the wart.  The problem with a plantar wart though is that it is deeper below the skin than a wart anywhere else on the body.  They are really tough to treat, normally I go for only natural treatments like tea tree oil, thuja or what not, but in this case I would take him in to the pediatrician so they can scrape the wart down and zap it with a little liquid nitrogen.  Would be the fastest way to get rid of it.  I have been a family practice nurse for 10 years and have never seen anyone be able to get rid of a plantars wart with duct tape.  Other warts yes.  But I would like to know if anyone was successful with a plantar wart.

Newspaper columnist Dr. Gott deals with this. Many of his contributors (just people like you and me) have had great success with duct tape on warts.

it sufocates the virus and makes it die. so yea, it gets rid of warts.

yes it WORKS!!!

my little boy had one for nearly a year, on and off on and off, i kept noticing it..finally, at Christmas, my sister said to me, thats a VIRUS!!! get that thing taken off. hes 8

Well, we had heard of the crazy duct tape thing and Dr OZ said it works so i said ok...we'll try it...and my Momma laughed and said, you see my forehead?  

We looked and the mole that she had sported on her forehead was GONE!!! she said well....i put duct tape on it every nite (took it off in the day time) so peepz wouldnt think im crazy but in a week it was GONE!

so ....i tried it and it took about 2 weeks, but it kept going down and down and down, and one day it just was GONE!!!!  :)
