Um, what's the difference between it and diamond and pearl?

Yes. I have heard of it but not much. I heard that it will be a little easier to catch pokemon like Arceus and Shaymin but that's from my friends. I also heard that you can catch Dialga and Palkia. Giratina is on the cover. This is just about all I know.

Giratina is the main pokemon. There is a place called the torn world which is messed up. There is like an INTERPOL agent tracking team galactic whom has a new scientist who was not in the old games. The plo is slightly different but I don't know how. Some of the gyms will have different layouts. I believe the elite four makeup is different. There is a special wi-fi room called the wi-fi square. The gts layout has been changed with some add ons. There will be a battle frontier like on emerald. I think you can get shaymin but arcues no.

pokemon platinum  is based on girantina this time round and also you have different coloured clothes i think you have girantina in sky form and shaymin in sky form (basically they look different) and you also have something kinda like the battle frontier from emerald but not exactly the same thing i hope this helped
