Apparently in the mayan calender abruptly ends on december 12 , 2012 (or 12/12/12) many people are saying that this the end of humanity and some c**p like that. I find it interesting but highly unlikely.

I'm a bit surprised that there aren't more questions about 2012 today.  Perhaps they've been eclipsed by current events.

So, there are lots of theories.  The Mayan calender runs out - but 1999 rolled over to 2000 and even to 2001, so that's not a big deal.  Planet X is going to collide with the Earth, even though it's supposed to be big, and no one has seen it, despite full sky surveys.  Oh, little tiny comets and asteroids are discovered all the time, but we're supposed to have missed this huge thing?  Or maybe it's something vague, like earthquakes, but we had those yesterday - a little soon, and besides we're still here.

Which theories did you hear?  Any sound convincing?  Ask that as a question.

yeah ive heard it. and i can tell you...the world is not going to end in 2012. they said it was guna end in 200, and all technology was going to fail....but so far it hasnt.

yup, the Inca calender says that it'll be the day the world end, and their calender has been really accurate with just Lil mistakes. i dont see why wouldn't it happen if we the humans dont stop destroying the earth.

Take heed, but fear not young one for 2012 is just the revealing of the 'antichrist' or the 'man of lawlessness' at the middle of what Jews and Christians call the 7 year Tribulation. I have heard of it and don't believe it, but i can't wait until that day comes upon us just like the Y2K scare. People panicked and bought tons of things they didn't need and i think it would be funny to see that happen again. It would certainly kick up our economic spending a bit.

The world is ALWAYS going to end. It was going to end in 2005, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, and so on.

It was going to end in 999 too, and people got into quite a frenzy about it, which fizzled, of course, when 1000 came along as if nothing had happened. Which it hadn't.

And let's not forget the Bible. The New Testament talks about an apocalypse that was IMMINENT. In the first century AD....
