There really cool! Plus when the oil is burned itll be good for the environment! So far, i have only heard positives about this, does anyone know of any negatives. I always like to have the full picture.

  1. Like, an actual insect?

No... I haven't heard of that... Sounds interesting, though.

    Kind of frightening.

  2. Yeah I did hear about it... And AT LEAST one negative would be that it was estimated that it would take a factory the size of Chicago to produce a demonstrable amount of oil. Sounds like a pretty sizable environmental foot print.

Edit: I don't know what's with the "Thumbs Down" ... This really was a news article. The viable and ethical applications of such genetic alterations are what is (in my mind) the issue.

In other words... Just because you can do something, does not mean you should do it.

  3. I'd grind the critters up and direct inject them into a high compression -(20-1) engine. Many early engine designs used a powdered fuel. Some day an engine bay may contain a bug farm to fuel system fed with banana peels.

  4. no cool!

  5. Do you mean insects that p**p goop or is this some kind of machine?  Never heard of it.
