I have a newer 18'x36' in-ground pool that is almost 2 years old. We developed a leak in the skimmer-to-pump line this year. This was confirmed by the pool company that installed the pool by doing a pressure test on the line. They made an attempt to dig up around the pump in hopes the leak was near that section (no concrete there) but it was not. This leaves the leak in the line under the pool concrete desk or at the skimmer itself (in concrete). Their solution now is to run a 3/4" line within the 1.5" existing skimmer line and somehow (they state they have a way) reseal the new line into the skimmer connection and pump connection. I am concerned that this is half the diameter of the old line and I will loss some suction. There is a main drain at the bottom of the pool as well. Also, it is difficult to swallow that we paid for a new pool less then 2 years ago and already we are dealing with this secondary line fix.
