Have you heard the latest about eBay not accepting money orders or cheques?

I can't believe what I just read!!! Starting in October, eBay US will no longer allow sellers to be paid using money orders or personal cheques. Not on the ebay US site. If our Canadian listings say we accept them, our listings probably won't be read on their site. HOLY MOLY. They'll allow PayPal (d.u.h.), credit card through their merchant stores, and ProPay (I think that's what it was called) which isn't available in Canada (so they say). This is over the top. They really don't care about sellers and are completely greedy. I'm soooooooo mad.

  1. its the same with amazon, but that start 9/11/08

  2. Do you want to get a little angrier with eBay?  Check out how they lied during their 2008 eBay live conference in Chicago by promising that eBay USA would not go to an all Pay-Pal payment option as it did with Australia, then did it anyways.

Also check out what Griff (eBay radio personality) has to say about the whole thing in the feedback section.  Then they wonder why listings are going down and people are starting to quit buying from eBay.

  3. Hi.  Did you just get unfrozen in a lab?  It's 2008, not 1978.  Who pays for stuff with a money order?  Anyone who can't get a credit card should not be on the Internet anyway.

PayPal rocks.  Use it.  If you don't like PayPal, call up your bank and say "Sign me up for a merchant account, baby!  I want to take credit card payments over the Internizzle, yo!"
