  1. some of my friends give me a weird "shut up" look if i bring up anything mildly metaphysical etc lol or if i mention that my incense supplies are running low... and they've learned not to ask questions if they see a strange symbol drawn or engraved on any of my belongings.

so i'd say no, i haven't lost any friends or jobs from it, but it certainly changes the dynamic of the atmosphere around them =P

  2. No, I aquired new, even unknown.

I will never more get out of there.I like this.I feel I am doing smth for my next life and it is the right way.

  3. I've had a catholic woman spit in my face telling me I do the devil's work.  And I politely told her that I wouldn't be discourteous and go to her church and spit on her there.  We sat down after that and discussed religion and she apologised later that she had misconstrued my leanings.

I am often careful when talking to people as I am mindful that some people are religious and might disregard what I have to say if I don't sound sane.

But generally, most people I come across are fairly open minded and that is what I love about human beings.

  4. I have never lost a job.  But I have pretty much no contact with my family because they all think I am crazy.  I too have been called satanic and evil by so called church members. I still consider him to be a good friend, but contact was severed between the two of us because I told him that this brother wanted to see him.  His brother had been dead for a few years prior to my moving here and I would not have known him.  He did not believe me and sort of laughed me off until I proved it (and in the process scared him I think)His brother gave me some information to tell him that I would not have known.  When I repeated what he had said, well lets just say he A) had no idea how I knew such intimate information and B) It freaked him out.

Believe me when I say this to you, as many believers as there are in the south and as mant tales of ghost and hauntings as there are....it is not always easy.

  5. To be honest my church does not approve of psychics and many paranormal subjects so as long as my parents force me to attend my bullshit church (i'm 14) I'll keep my interest in the paranormal secret.

  6. This is actually an interesting question. I did lose a friend who is a super Jesus freak who never felt comfortable with my interest in the paranormal. I attended some ghost hunts for fun with the guys from the "Ghost Hunters" tv show.

My friend said she felt bad that she wasn't able to share her love of Jesus with me or something to that affect and that people who go ghost hunting are entertaining the devil or some nonsense like that. She was one of my best friends and because of her judgmental nature she no longer is.

  7. Yes I lost a job once. I was working as an office clerk and I saw a demon lurking in my manager's office, but she didn't see it. I was looking through the window and I could see it was under her chair. So I busted through the door and dove at my manger, grabbing her off the chair just in time and tumbling onto the floor. I looked back and the demon was gone, thankfully. But then my manager pushed me off of her and promptly fired me. I guess she didn't believe in demons.

  8. No. In fact all of my friends are interested in it as well. We have our own investigation group.

  9. No but I do think it is important to have a supportive environment in whatever your interest might be.

For example the gun club might not be the best place to discuss your Green Peace activities and vice versa.

Obviously science (via the Parapsychological Association) and some organized religions have very different views of psi phenomena.

In both my graduate training and at work I have gotten at least odd looks for my willingness to listen to a client's experience without immediately judging them as a nut job.

In fact I openly opposed a supervisor when I believed doing so was in the best interest of the client. Thankfully, that was during my education and she couldn't fire me.

    Psi

  10. Nope, but then I usually keep my private life and work life separate for the most part.  However, if asked I wouldn't lie about it.

  11. Those with an open mind will always be open to explanations, even beyond the normal range.  Those with a closed mind will never want to know.

  12. No, but I make sure folks know I'm grounded in Christ before I bring up paranormal. God is real; Satan is real. Make sure of who's side you're on before testing the waters.

  13. Yes. I saw a friend from college at the mall one day after many years of no contact. Since he was still unbelievely hot, I was overjoyed when he asked me out.

Well we went to a new agey party, and I told him I could read palms as a lark. After exchanging some smoldering looks, I took his hand, and actually(!) was able to tap into his world. As I began telling him what was going on in his life and his feelings on the matter, his eyebrows shot up and he snatched his hand away!

Needless to say the evening was ruined and I never heard from him again. :(

Shoulda kept my hands to myself!
