There was a little "recipe" on my steaks I bought, said something about marinading in Italian dressing. I left my steak seasoning at my old apt :( and wondering if Italian dressing is any good.

  1. I marinate all of my meats in italian dressing - it tastes GREAT!

Another thing you want to do before marinating is to let your meat soak in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes.  It makes the meat nice and juicy.

Remember, to cook on a low flame - it cooks every thing to perfection!

    Good luck!!

  2. I don't like it;  most Italian dressing doesn't have enough seasoning in it, and it's "gluey" textured.  I marinated some chicken once, and it was the blandest chicken I'd ever made.  I was embarrassed to serve it! ... Plus, salad dressing has oil in it, which can burn if you put it on a BBQ.   Try Lawry's marinades;  I think they're the best......

  3. no but that does sound good.

  4. I have to say I have not done that nor would i want to.

  5. it is really good I have marinaded a flank stake in it and it tastes great if that is all you have and you do not want to go to the store yes it is good.

  6. Yes! It will come out awesome.

  7. Yes if you like italian dressing... Add some red wine and onions to kick it up a little.

Cook over charcoal... Charcoal is made from wood...

  8. I have used it before and it isn't bad.  Not my favorite but good.  Just make sure you don't marinate it too long (4+ hours) I notice that the steak actually starts to cook a bit from all the acidity in the dressing.

I have always been a fan of keeping it simple with steaks.  Salt, pepper and garlic powder.

  9. I use it all the time it is very good

1/4 cup A.1. Original Steak Sauce

    1/4 cup  KRAFT Italian Dressing

MIX steak sauce and dressing. Pour over your favorite beef steak in shallow glass dish or resealable bag. Cover dish or seal bag.

REFRIGERATE at least 1 hour to marinate. Drain steak; discard marinade.

GRILL or broil steak until cooked through, turning over halfway through the cooking time.
