Funny... Remember, The Rock was an actor (happened to wrestle, after failing at Football) before he was able to actually get movies/roles through that fame... Obama channels more of Martin Luther King... actually, its more like an evangelical preacher -- meaning you can BET he paid attention to the Rev. Wright for 20 years, and began to affect that style of delivery to get VOTES through Black audiences in Chicago.. to develop a base. His wife, was instant Cred...

Remember, he's raised in Thailand (mom taught him English at 4:30am, etc.) and then as a young 'tween' moved to Hawaii up through HS years.. then studies in Harvard.. then, moved to NYC.. where he must have encountered 'real' black people en masse for the first time.. and then, beyond the DNC glorification of his work in Chicago -- he was a HISTORY PROFESSOR for 12 years in a college, right? (know what that means, he didn't speak in the same tones to that audience and he's self-aware of his listening audiences).

I think he'd become a chameleon for his longer-term goals, and he's been pretty darn successful at it, at that.
