  1. Just look at the weather reports.

Every year for the past five years has had more hurricanes and tornadoes than any other year in history.  Hurricanes and tornadoes are caused by warm air.

Every year for the past decade has been the hottest year on record.  When the global average daily temperature increases by 1 degree per year, it actually increases by 3-4 degrees north of the tropics and by 10-15 degrees north of the Arctic circle.

Migratory species of birds and butterflies are no longer flying south for the winter.  Remember the Canadian geese that used to be everywhere in February?

    [EDIT]

Who is the r****d who is giving everyone thumbs down?

  2. Nope.. not at all.. pollution should be cleaned up regardless of what we think we know....

  3. Glatiers have retreated.  That's a fact, and warming is required to have caused that.

  4. In British Columbia, the pine beetle is moving northward, killing forests of pine trees as it goes.  A few really cold winter days is all it takes to kill them, but we're just not getting them any more.  It's heartbreaking to see hundreds of square miles of green turning red, then dry brown.

  5. Yes, 55 years ago when I was a kid, I had to shovel the sidewalk at least once a week from early December till late March and January or February always had at least 1 week of -10 F (-25C) temperatures.  Now, I only have to shovel once a month and the temperature never falls below 0F (-17C).  I have not moved.  Well, actually I did move into the North but I have now returned to the place of my birth.

  6. Sure:

    - glaciers retreating (many of the small ones in the Sierras are gone now)

    - largemouth bass surviving in Lake Tahoe,

    - pikas disappearing from the elevations that they inhabited in the 1970s,

    - bristlecone pine seedlings advancing to higher elevations than they've inhabited for the past 4500 years.

    - ski season arrives several weeks later and ends sooner than it did in the 70s and 80s

    - Fall camping season lasts several weeks longer, and I now can go in the Spring as early as March

    - mountain passes seem to be opening sooner and staying open later

    - The once massive salmon runs in the Sacramento River have recently declined by over 90%, and unfavorable ocean conditions due to global warming is one of the contributory factors being investigated.

    - snowpack levels have declined, causing water shortages.

    - pine beetles are having a field day ni Sierra forests (although fire supression plays some role there).

    - California wildfire season is much , much longer and more dangerous.  We've already had a fire in Southern California, and it's not even Summer yet.  The fires last Fall were incredibly widespread, intense, and destructive.

  7. That's easy - I've seen the average global temperature increase!

I've also seen spring come earlier every hear.

Glaciers have retrated, arctic sea ice has melted at a record rate, many areas have seen record heat waves, etc.

I haven't seen any of these things in person, but I only live on a miniscule portion of the planet.  I only see weather events, but when I look at the combined weather changes all over the planet, it's clear that the climate is changing due to global warming.

  8. Yeah...the Weather Network in Canada regularly features a thoroughly annoying guy named David Suzuki who whines, cries and foams at the mouth over this global warming thing.

Other than that, nothing has changed except we just had the coldest winter in history in the northern hemisphere.

  9. yes the price of my car tax and the price of fuel is going up

  10. The temperature from the nearest rural station shows an increase of 1.2 C for my area.  As a kid I could occasionally skate on local lakes, but it's been nearly 30 years since we've had a cold spell sufficient to freeze the lakes over for skating.

Of course, this is just anecdotal evidence of global warming, since it's only 1 region.  But it fits your question.
