Question:

Have you noticed if ghosts/spirits come around more or less if you have pets?

I remember how they associate cats with witches. Would cats or other animals get possessed easily? Would spirits be able to get into them and see through their eyes? (I don't see how they would need eyes to see...but just wondered.) Could that be what happens when some dogs seem "mad" (not rabies mad).

(Sorry if this is another "silly" question. I just think I should try to find all the answers I can while I'm on here...about anything I "wonder" about..no matter how silly or weird it seems!)

  1. its never made a difference to me, but my cat has picked up on certain things, and my dogs from years ago...so i dont think it makes any difference any way

  2. I am not sure how cats became associated with witches,  but this is a great question Deenie. When I pondered your query, I thought back to how my cats played with some ghost cats in our old apartment back in NYC, they would give chase to them, until they disappeared through the closet door, where my living cats would go WHAM!, we used to get quite a big kick out of that.  Also, when I was around 19 and I was still living under the roof of my parents most haunted house, our beloved dog D.D. died. When she died, she took many of the spirits with her to the other side. Not all mind you, but much of the house felt cleared. So upon pondering this question, yes I do think that animals in general are closer to the other side than we are. They deal with that aspect with out any outside chatter and are more accepting of what they see and feel.

Now part 2 of your question. I have heard (and seen) that human spirits will often "borrow" a bird or a cats body to say hello to their loved ones. Are they possessed? Not really, just borrowed briefly. It is not as though  they have to go to work and present themselves to a board meeting, so if they seem a little out of it for a moment or two, it will probably be okay.

  3. No. There are no ghosts. You are just putting yourself in that silly and weird category you have described.

  4. I can't say that I've noticed or even thought about it before this question. I have had pets most of my life.

I wonder how one would know if an animal became possessed. I mean sure if starts speaking English (let's say backwards) and it's levitating off the floor growling/hissing at you then OK something is going on.

I'm thinking you mean mad for no reason. My dog growls when the cat get too near her bones but I think that is natural. I don't recall any of my animals ever being mad for no reason.

Oh yes the quest for knowledge is a silly idea indeed.

  5. they seem to know

  6. pets  sence

extra ligth freqvencies, and sounds spretcurm then humans

so they can sense more soo u would say  its more if u have pets

has nothing to do with pets they jsu tmore sensible to this things

pets dotn atract or scar away ghosts

sure a spirit can poses any animal it wants just liek a human

even more easyly then a human

  7. I have encountered a supernatural entity, a spirit of a person who I later learned committed suicide in the same place I was staying.  I can tell you that there is no way that any living creature would have any influence over that entity.  All living things fled and h**l was present on earth.  I hope never to experience this again.

  8. Three out of five members of my family have a higher sixth sense then normal, and we've always had pets.  One thing I've noticed is that I always feel safer with my cats around.  We have two Silver Tabby cats and they are both pretty protective of us, and at night I'll look over at them and see them looking intently at something thats not there.  Both of them do that at the same time and sometimes they even move their heads in the same direction at the same time.  I don't think they've ever got possessed, but I do think that they've got a higher awareness then any human ever could.

  9. My female cat has taken on another personality.

She always hisses, spits, and growls when I pick her up.

She used to not do that up until a year ago.

Not sure when she started growing a wild hair up her wazoo, but it's there!

Now, I pick her up and kiss on her because it does p**s her off!

And in some strange way, I think she enjoys it too like it's a game.

  10. in my country, there would be 2 answers to  this question..

honestly.. i dont really know the answer to your question based on how you asked it.. but here.. in my country..

there are 2 types of black magic.. the normal.. and one based on local things and beleives..locals have hatred towards dogs. they say its against their religion to touch dogs. my lovely dogs always get bullied by locals.. in fact this morning, a 7 or 8 year  old girl threw a pencil case at my dogs.. in fact, in my country its not illegal to eat dogs and ppl often abuse dogs without getting caught.. they only catch you if its really bad.. and you get a way with a US50 dollar fine.. there are dog lovers here (i am one of them) but the authoroties are much stronger that us and dont care about dogs at all.

anyway.. to get to the point.. when local ppl do the local black magic, if you have a dog (or a pig or have pork).. it will not work. also here, there is this thing called a 'toyol' its kinda like a goblin ppl usually send to houses to do things (sometimes good.. sometimes bad.. but not using good forces).. some have been seen.. others not.. so when a toyol comes to your house.. if you have a dog.. or a pig or eat pork it cannot enter..

my mums friend's friend use to use toyols to go to ppls houses.. before knowing it was bad.. my mum went to him once regarding some problems at work and the causes..

not knowing we had sofi.. he sent a toyol to the house to see if anyone elso had done black magic.. .. suddenly he turns to my mum and says.. you have a dog.. my mum goes.. yeah..so? and he said he couldnt go in because of sofi.. its true.. they just cant..

    this story is true..

  11. Deenie,

I believe that animals are just more sensitive to spirits than humans are. It is easier to notice the spirits because your animals notice them first and start acting strange. Hope this helps!

  12. I would think it would depend on the spirit.

Animals have a far keener sense of perception that we do.

If a spirit would want to try to communicate in someway, an animal would be a good start, or a child.

Deenie, no question is "silly" & if some people think that it is, so what it is their oppion.  Once again, there are MORE destructive people than helpful.  You just have to be able to weed out the weirdos & rudeness.

  13. well i haven't encountered any ghosts/spirits and i have no pets

  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4MGsm962...

well yes and yes, click on the link I had a dream when I was little, demons coming out the wall. about at 5:30 or watch the whole clip.

  15. I don't think dogs or cats are affected by the spirits unless the spirit itself may have been afraid or hated animals while alive. Since a change in the environment almost always stirs up activity, if an animal enters a space where it would have been unwelcome this could possibly cause an adverse reaction.

Possesion of animals would be an interesting concept. I would think that a cat would be the most likely suspect, to report back to a spirit. Dogs can sense fear so if you have spirits hanging about you that may be afraid of dogs, this could possibly cause the attack mode.
