  1. I've never heard that.  I have heard of the weather being worse that than what is predicted by NOAA (pronounced the same).  NOAA is the the abreviation for the national weather service.

  2. NOAA stands for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The National Weather Service (NWS) is a branch of the NOAA. The NWS is the main source of weather information, including forecasts in the U.S. Some t.v. stations use the NWS forecasts as their forecasts while others try to make their own forecasts which may differ from the NWS forecasts at times. I wouldn't say that t.v. stations are always saying that the weather will be more severe than what the NWS says.

  3. Mr. Weather I am so Sorry I accidently gave you a thumbs down I ment to give you a thumbs up because you are absolutly correct in your answer that NOAA is the acronym for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

and NWS is the acronym for National Weather Service.

Both are a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Any how as far as the media reports of weather go,

NOAA's National Weather Service is the primary source of weather data, forecasts, and warnings for the United States. Television weathercasters and private meteorology companies prepare their forecasts using NOAA information. The National Weather Service is also the sole United States official voice for issuing warnings during life-threatening weather situations.
