  1. Huh? I've done both and don't find them at all similar.

  2. no..

  3. there is nothing you can compare Namaz with.

    these two things are incomparable

  4. yeh i get what you mean... didnt think about that before..

  5. Yes. Especially the Tashahhud position has an exact parallel in Yoga, the name of which I can't recall now.

I am assuming you mean the actions done in praying. Of course the whole prayer makes you calmer and more peaceful, if you are aware of it.

  6. ?

you don't gain hasanat doing yoga ;)

  7. I don't do Yoga, but I know that the water from making wudhu is like the same as the use of oil for a car. Also, I found out that praying Salaah 5 times is a nice exercise for the body and it reduces the chance of arthritis. Fun Facts :P

  8. well its more like an act of worship than anything else. where you repeatedly bow to god and praise him and pray to him.

yoga is doing stretches and all that .

thats not what namaz is. dont go about doing namaz with the intention of doing it as an exercise. the purpose of namaz is to worship the master of all that exists.

  9. It's nothing like yoga !i

  10. beside namaz being an act of "worship" for many (though it is actually consider more of a mandatory part of your life... like how you eat sleep and breath oxygen, namaz is for your soul... islam is the way of life not just a religion.

and absolutely namaz is like yoga, as a matter of fact it is a form of meditation as well. because you need to concentrate only towards one existence. and perform accordingly... standing straight, bending down, bowing, turning ur head right then left for the ending. it's not only beneficial to your body but also for your mind heart and soul...

i love doin yoga.. but namaz is not only for this life it's also for the after life... which is important and beautiful... so yea!

    have fun!

  11. Yes!! It is. But, yoga has its own benefits also!

Look, what about a combination of Namaz + Yoga. Wouldn't the entire world be more peaceful and calm?!
