Have you noticed that there's a lot less dancing in the world?

Like, the good kind of dancing.

60's kind of dancing, with ROCK. :D

But have you really seen anybody dancing to anything lately that isn't the trashy sort, to stupid and demeaning rap, or 'hardcore dancing'?

Kids just don't dance anymore!

Or do they, where you are?

Why do you think that is? Is it just not cool anymore?

{and by the way, I'm one of those kids who probably had some sort of past life in the 60's and longs to just... DANCE with people!}

  1. mmm i know what you mean. I dont dance personally, but perhaps that is because the music now-days isnt as good to dance to. i know that if i had lived in the 60s-80s i would have danced my heart out to the music!! now dancing is defined as jumping around and looking 'cool'.

  2. Ooh man I wish we can dance like the 60's and 70's again! I hate how every time i go to a dance, guys expect me to "freak" and honestly I don't like that at all and I don;t freak and when I do dance like the  60's or  just move around with my hands, they think i don't know how to dance. It's so lame!

  3. Yes, indeed. You really have to look for it nowadays. But looking on the bright side, maybe it makes it more special.

  4. OH man!! I know how you feel!!

Well...sorta...I was never into the 60s dancing, but I do lots of lyrical dances and ballet...well sometimes I go kind of crazy and just DANCE

But at our school dances, dancing really is more or less bobbing your head up and down or doing the "soulja boy"...gosh it annoys me!

Some people have my views, and they love to dance (and those are the people who actually tend to be good)

I dunno...dancing is still "cool" just maybe not...the same? I don't know...wait another 5-10 years, when 60s dancing will be cool again :-)

But I love to dance :-D (even if others don't xD)

  5. yes! there is a lot less actual dancing in this world! and it is really sad. now the people's idea of "cool" dancing is basically jumping around and making sharp involuntary movements! and there is no dignity in this dancing , if you can call it that, I mean it's so rude.

I wish it were the 60 or the 80's I like swing and some songs from the 70's and 80's.  Also I think more people should do Ballet and other dancing styles that are similar because they are actually real disciplinary dance styles.

now I've expressed myself I shall get on with my homework =D

  6. Yep! Although it seems to be coming back a little, but trying to get red-blooded Kiwi blokes up on the dancefloor for a salsa or tango can be pretty hard....

  7. Haha. I'm one of this generation dancers.

When I first read the question i was "WHAT?! LESS DANCING?! I found alot more dancers this year than the past years!"

But hey, i understand. I remember before i moved here (i was in the Philippines) the dance crew i was in was preparing for a dance competition. The theme was 50's ~ 70's and it seemed like i was part of the very few who was interested in how the steps would be.

When our Choreographer (who was there during those times) started teaching us, a few were skeptical about the steps and winning the competition. But i was amused. I found the moves to be kinda nice and when i started Bgirling (another term for Breakdancing) i found out about style and used a 70's move in my routine.

It was pretty awesooome. But yeah, i noticed that 60's dancing is like.. poof. ninja mode!
