Have you noticed the sun setting behind the Santa Monica Mountains instead of the ocean?

I live in Hermosa Beach, and I've noticed the sun is setting behind the the Santa Monica mountains and not the ocean. I've never seen it set that far north before and never behind the mountains. All my neighbors have noticed the same thing. I know the the sun does move, but I've noticed a huge difference in it's position since April. Does anyone know where I can find data on the sun's position in past years and compare it to this year's position? Thanks!
