Have you noticed this on FOOD NETWORK?

As a father I always taught my daughter to eat with her mouth closed. Lately we have been watching the Food Network and we both noticed that some of the hosts (not to mention names) were eating, chewing food with mouth open and talking at the same time!!! What do you say to that?

  1. Just tell her thats a great example of what NOT to do...

Tell her that their parents never taught them to chew with their mouths shut...

  2. Very good point! It is not very polite! Just make sure your daughter knows they are doing the wrong thing.

Maybe they eat with their mouth open to get more flavor or maybe it's a good bite. Or to show you the texture of the food! No i'm just kidding! But very good point! It's rude and annoying!

  3. I don't think its right. I hate when your eating and the person next to you is chewing with their mouth open. I also hate to hear the smacking sound they make. Whrn I was in schoo they taught to chew with our mouths closed.

  4. Ohhhhh Wow !!  I thought I was the only one to

    have noticed this.

Very rude and offensive indeed !!

  5. As you know, television is not a means of teaching our children morals, manners, or REALITY.  Don't get me wrong.  I watch T.V. daily, and really enjoy the Food Network, but when I watch T.V. with my granddaughters, one thing I do is play a game to see if we can name all the "mistakes" in grammar, manners, etc.

Have you also noticed that it looks as if a lot of the cooks/chefs taste the food with a spoon or their fingers and continue cooking without getting a new spoon or without washing their hands?

  6. Ew, that is so rude! Please point out to your daughter how disgusting that is. Good for you trying to teach your daughter good habits.

  7. Not only that, but cooks like Rachael Ray have long stringy hair hanging over their food while cooking.  A real no no in a restaurant.

  8. They are instructional shows about food.  They sort of have to eat as part of the show and they also have to talk.

  9. Funny that you'd say that, because not only is it my biggerst pet peeve ever, but I've noticed it while watching Top Chef as well. Not to name any names but Padma and Gail are right up there with Guy Fieri and the ever so loveable Rachael Ray. You may have hundreds (or at least tens) of thousands of dollars, but apparently money can't buy manners. The one thing that makes me truely thankful I don't own a 60" hi-def. tv
