Watching TV documentary and the African tribeswomen talking in their tent seemed to be saying important things but the sub-titles said "My husband won't eat that: he hates fat." and "Did you see M'bwama is pregnant again?"

Conversation is pretty mundane wherever you are.

What do you expect these women to say? They've never left their home territory, they can't read, they don't have access to the media, they seldom come across strangers. You can hardly expect them to spout philosophy or to take the world apart and put it back again.
