Not a volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. A Obama-like "community organizer" who was in charge and was paid (whatever pittance they get paid).

  1. Yes I have.  They are usually pushing a political agenda and ensuring that most of the money winds up as payroll for even more community organizers.

Ever notice that these organizations talk about how much money they spent ranter than what measurable results they achieved?

  2. Yes.  Community organization is commonly a function of social work, and social workers do get paid.  They often obtain grants to fulfill a mission for a community, and it almost always involves eliciting cooperation from community members themselves.  Community organizers take some pay from the grant money so that they can make a meager living and continue doing what they do.

  3. yeah no pay its volunteer

  4. Yes. And?

  5. Yes. Lots of times. Several alternative newspapers in large urban areas run ads recruiting them. Some of the protestors get paid to do it. Every outfit from Greenpeace to labor unions. A lot of the pickets on a strike line are hired guns. Especially in long-running labor disputes.

  6. Yes, I have.  There are many non-profit organizations doing important work in communities that local government cannot or will not do.  I cannot for the life of me understand why Republicans think this topic is funny.  I guess they think doing what they do - trying to take rights away from normal people - is what everyone should be doing.

  7. no, and I doubt they are very well known and have hardly any experience
