Have you purchased or used one of new Easy Bake Ovens?

Is it good for cooking anything besides cakes and cookies? I mean, could it be used to, say, melt cheese on bread?

NO dont use them for anything else other than what they are intended for. The heating element (light bulb) is set  a certain distance based on the size of the dishes and specific items they make for the oven. if you put something else inside it could sit to close to the element and catch fire.
