Have you rather have Foie gras or Kobe beef for dinner ?

Both are very expensive food item.

Kobe of course.

If your talking about real Kobe( from Kobe, Japan) expect to pay about $300 per lb.

There is also "Wagyu"( made from the same cow as Kobe but not from Japan) but from Australia or the USA).

Alot cheaper then the real deal and in this case I'd prefer a good "Prime" American steak over the imitation Kobe.

Foie

No way. Its a deformed goose or duck( both are foie) liver made by force feeding the animal into shock which causes his liver to enlarge.

I'll leave those for the "elite connoisseurs".

Well neither because of the treatment of these poor animals. Foie Gras comes from ducks or geese that are force fed high caloric diets to enlarge their livers (which is what the foie gras is....liver) and get more from the birds. The birds are kept in cages where they cannot stand and they have tubes shoved down their throats to force feed them....

Now the Kobe beef comes from special cattle in Japan (they are now supposedly working on raising such cattle in the US) and these animals are fed terrible diets of sake and such to increase the fat in their 'meat' (that special marblization of the meat is due to so much fat in these animals).

So I would choose neither....why spend all that money and support such torture on animals?

i wouldnt eat either but i would definately not buy foie gras

Kobe beef...definitely...but it isn't that much better than a really good angus ribeye!

Foie Gras is only used in small quantities usually as a spread

mainly for cocktails as an entree ,not as a main dish for dinner. And the same goes for Kobe beef in small piece on a cracker or bread .

The same  as caviar if you will
