Have you read Great Expectations twice? I've read it once and loved it but five years later I wonder if?

a second reading wont be so good and will tarnish the memory. If You read it 4 times in a year for an English exam You may not understand my dilema.

neh reading books twice is good i think ive never read it i am going to as well as david copperfield after ive finished lord of the rings but great expectations start funny something like my fathers name was pirrip and my name was pippin and i became known as pip????

Pip's story gets more and more interesting and meaningful the older you get, and the more life experience you have. That's true of most great books, and Dickens especially.

I've read all of Dickens' novels and a good number of his short stories, more than a couple of times, and I'm always pleased to find how much better his writing is the older I get

I got more out of it after a second read, than I did the first time. ~ Is a great book.

when i was in school i would read charles dickens or shakesphere novels atleast twice or thrice as i would so fond of them and i read jane eyre many times but now i don't even remeber them..habits changes with the time..may be i have become so busy or now having responsibilities but whatever be the reason habits do change.

No, after 5 years I believe you will enjoy it again. It will be like meeting up with an old friend. I have read it several times and my enjoyment hasn't diminished.

I read it twice, but that was more than 35 years ago.  I am considering reading it again now, because I think I would appreciate it more now than I did then.  I read David Copperfield about 6 times and I think I enjoyed it more every time.  I find that if I like a book I enjoy it more each time I read it because I notice more details and retain more of the little things that I probably didn't notice on previous readings.
