Question:

Have you read the Manhattan Declaration? It's about global warming, and why it isn't happening.?

A couple of weeks ago a large group of scientists and atmospheric experts met in NYC to discuss global warming.

In concluding their discussion, they left for us the Manhattan Declaration that says basically that g/w isn't happening, and that global temperature changes are natural and normal.

Have you read it? What do you think? Just google it to find it.

  1. Bob,

You've misunderstood Newt's statement. He has said that discussion needs to be held to get answers as to whether the issue of Anthropomorphic cause of Global Warming has validity OR NOT. AND also how it should be solved if it exists.

Government solutions provide poor and Expensive choices Newt's contention that IF it exists, solutions should be made by private sector.  You can read his statements on NEWT.ORG

As a so called denier I tend to be a bit more open minded to say the jury is still out and IS NOT a CONSENSUS more like CON census. .

1st, basic science practices assumes a theory must be tested and proved before it can be adopted as scientific fact.

Take the 1st Declaration of the Mahattan Declaration.

That there is no convincing evidence that CO2 emissions from modern industrial activity has in the past, is now, or will in the future cause catastrophic climate change.

    What defines clear evidence?

Measurable levels of atmospheric gases do not support the global warming hysteria.

Global Warming is pseudo-science and much of the information purported is based on flawed computer models, not observational science. Until observations can prove or disproved a theory it remains a theory.

The Global Warming "movement" is a shell for political control. For all intent and purpose green hitler's are becoming more prevalent, if you fail to adhere to dogma and doctrine of the "belief" (ie Religion) you are labeled a denier., in all likelihood if this movement gathers moss it could wind up costing us a lot.

Heartland Institute (and others) provides  sources for much more objectivity, where the current propaganda machine of the green whack jobs has so indoctrinated many formerly intelligent people fail to think for themselves.

I had a climatology course under Bill Gray at CSU a couple of decades ago, this man knows his atmosphere probably better than nearly anyone on the planet, Bill adds a level of credibility none of the idiots on the "Green Religion" can.

  2. I think that it is amazing that a plant biologist who has been removed twice from his work due to poor standard of methods seems to qualify as an "expert scientist," yet so many AGW promoters declare that anyone who disagrees with them is "not a scientist, regardless of their degree, proffesional reputation and ability to convincingly make their point.

That is what I think.  Make you wonder why the Manhattan Declaration did not make the news.  I had to find out about it on Y!A.

  3. Yes.  It's complete nonsense.  Just political, not scientific.  Most of the people who signed it weren't even scientists, much less atmospheric experts.

The best scientists in the country (and around the world) say global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.

The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

There are a VERY few scientific skeptics, but this is the truth:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know.  Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point,You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

    Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

Many conservatives have become quite annoyed with the denier movement.  It's giving conservatives a bad name as ignorant.

"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

"National Review (the most prestigious conservative magazine) published a cover story calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"

  4. It was just a circle jerk involving a bunch of hand picked jerks.

  5. I  have read the declaration.  I think the big thing that this points out is that the science is not settled and a very large number of highly respected scientists from around the globe are not buying into the hype.

  6. Bob, the 2 sources you quoted were not reputable: they were written by pro-global warming environmentalists who had no proof to back up their claims.
