If so what did you think, It makes sense to me but having not ridden one i wonder if it is all hype. I am looking at buying a new deck just unsure which way to go. On my shortlist is the Option signatue ( standard board) and the Gnu chb mtx....

  1. Yeah I've rode Magne since it came out. I've also rode option and don't like them that much, even though my friend Pat McCarthy rides for them. The magne tractions I've had: Travis Rice 156, Travis Rice 157, Dark Series 158, Skate banana 156 & 159. I received a non-magne Jamie Lynn 158 and found it way too edgy after riding Magne's for about a year. Magne traction simply gives you better edge control and less hang ups in icy conditions. If you like to jib or ride pow the Skate banana is the way to go, if you enjoy big jumps get a TRice or other Magne board without banana. Check out my vids at http://www.funner.us as well

  2. i ride a 159 lib tech skate banana with magne traction...while it took a few runs to get used to...it rocks.  i'll never ride anything without magne traction.  you said it...it just makes sense.

  3. nope, i'd like to try though.

  4. I've never tried it, but here's the answer that always pops up when people ask about it on snowboarding forums: some people love it and some people hate it. You should demo it before you buy it to make sure it's for you! Most shops will let you demo boards before you buy them..

  5. not hype. its great. get a board with it.
